چکیده
Abstract Background Hyperbilirubinemia after heart valve surgery (HVS) with cardiopulmonary bypass is frequently observed and associated worse outcomes. We investigated the characteristics prognosis of patients severe hyperbilirubinemia HVS for rheumatic disease (RHD) to identify clinical outcomes potential risk factors. Methods Between 2015 2018, who underwent in cardiac intensive care unit our hospital were retrospectively screened. Risk factors acute kidney injury (AKI), requirement continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), in-hospital long-term mortality identified by univariate multivariate analyses. The patient survival proportion was graphically presented Kaplan–Meier method. Results A total 149 RHD had postoperative included. Of included patients, 80.5% developed AKI, 18.1% required CRRT. 30.2%. Backward logistic regression analysis showed that time peak TB concentration (odds ratio [OR] 1.557, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.259–1.926; P < 0.001) advanced AKI (stage 2 3 AKI) (OR 19.408, CI 6.553–57.482; independent predictors mortality. cutoff value levels predicting 5 days. Conclusions Severe a life-threatening complication undergo RHD. Patients whose bilirubin continued increase past 5th day (stages 3) higher

Introduction: Rheumatic heart disease still remains one of the leading causes of congestive heart failure and death owing to valvular pathologies, in developing countries. Valve replacement still remains the treatment of choice in such patients. The aim of this study wasto analyze the postoperative outcome of double valve replacement (Mitral and Aortic ) in patients of rheumatic heart disease. ...

Introduction: Despite advances in cardiac surgery, many patients might still encounter some post-surgical complications and difficulties. To overcome such difficulties, they should receive the required education. In view of the fact that determining the educational needs is the first step in educational planning, the present study aims to determine the educational needs of patients undergoing ...
متن کاملIncreased mortality in patients with severe COPD associated with high-intensity exercise: a preliminary cohort study
INTRODUCTION Intensity of exercise is believed to be a key determinant of response to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) rehabilitation. We hypothesized that a higher intensity of exercise, in combination with physiotherapist-led instructions and education in management of breathlessness, would lead to better self-management, possibly delaying calls to the emergency service and preven...

Increased morbidity and mortality in patients with antiphospholipid syndrome undergoing valve replacement surgery.
OBJECTIVE Heart valve abnormalities are commonly found in patients with antiphospholipid syndrome but experience with valve replacement in such patients is limited. We analyzed the results of valve replacement in patients with this condition at our institution. METHODS Between 1989 and 2002, 10 patients with antiphospholipid syndrome (8 women, 2 men; aged 38-73 years, mean 49 years) with seve...
